Buenos Aires, April 8 (NA) – Amidst the fallout from the Manuel Adorni assets scandal, the ruling coalition will seek to score a victory with the final passage in the Chamber of Deputies of pro-mining amendments to the Glaciers Law. The objective is to regain the center of the ring and start to move past the difficult public relations moment. The numbers for the vote inject full confidence, and even an opposition deputy with whom the Noticias Argentinas agency spoke estimated that the ruling coalition, together with its occasional allies—including Peronist deputies from mountainous provinces—“will reach 140 votes”. Session at a fever pitch: the ruling coalition has the votes to approve today the pro-mining changes to the Glaciers Law.
